The #1 High School Research Program

Find the Research Program That Actually Finishes What It Starts

Most programs run 10 weeks, put you in a cohort, and end before your research does. Aspire is 12 weeks, 1:1 with a PhD matched to your exact field, and built around one goal: a complete research paper with your name on it.

Trusted by 20,000+ students worldwide · Founded by ISEF champions & PhDs · ~10% acceptance rate

The problem with most programs

Research in high school is hard. Most programs make it harder.

No Lab Access Shouldn't Stop You

A significant number of ISEF finalists in 2025 had no lab access at all. Computational, social science, and data-driven research is just as legitimate — you just need the right mentor for it.

Generic Advice Gets Generic Results

Most programs match you with whoever's available. You have no idea who you're getting until after you've already paid. Aspire runs a 2-week matching process before you commit — you know your mentor first.

10 Weeks Isn't Long Enough

Research is unpredictable. Programs that end at week 10 leave students with half a project and nothing to show. Aspire runs 12 weeks with a built-in buffer so you actually finish.

What makes Aspire different

12 weeks, 1:1, built around one outcome: a complete research project.

1:1 PhD Mentorship

You work directly with a PhD from your exact field — not a grad student, not a group session. Mentors come from virtually every Ivy League institution and Fortune 500 companies.

Dual-Layer Mentorship

PhDs know science. Recent ISEF champions know what's winning science fairs right now. Aspire gives you both — PhD expertise plus a network of ISEF finalists from the past 1–2 years.

You Know Your Mentor First

A 2-week matching process pairs you with the right mentor before you commit financially. No surprises after you've already signed up.

Built for Completion

Three gate checks at weeks 2, 8, and 12 keep your research on track. If something's off, we catch it early — not at the end when it's too late to fix.

Your Work, Your Name

You write every word of the paper. You own the research entirely. That's not a rule — it's the whole point. The students who do the work are the ones who can defend it.

Real Deliverable

You finish with a complete research paper in IMRAD format ready for submission, or a poster presentation ready for ISEF. Not a certificate. Not a participation record. Something you can actually use.

The Aspire timeline

From zero to one research paper in 12 weeks.

Week 0
Onboarding

Meet your PhD mentor. Set your recurring weekly meeting time. Get oriented on Discord, Google Classroom, and the program calendar.

Weeks 1–3
Ideating

Work with your mentor to develop an ISEF-worthy research question and feasibility plan. Gate check at week 2 confirms your project is ready to execute.

Weeks 4–9
Execution

Collect data, run experiments, analyze results. Weekly 45–60 minute meetings with your PhD. Gate check at week 8 reviews your methodology and results.

Weeks 10–12
Deliverables

Write your research paper or build your poster presentation. Final gate check ensures your work meets academic standards before the Aspire Research Symposium.

How Aspire compares

Most research programs charge more and deliver less.

Who it's for

We're looking for students who are obsessed with something.

Grades 8–11

The earlier you start, the more time you have to build. Students who begin in 9th grade can complete a second project before senior applications.

Any field

Biology, computer science, environmental science, psychology, mathematics, social science, linguistics — if there's a PhD in the field, we have a mentor for you.

Obsessed with something

You don't need prior research experience. You need a specific curiosity and the drive to follow it for 12 weeks. We build the structure around that.

Serious about the outcome

If you're looking for someone to do the research for you, this isn't the program. If you want to own a project end to end, this is exactly the right place.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

Do I need prior research experience to apply?

No. Most Aspire students have never done formal research before. You need genuine curiosity in a specific area and the willingness to work independently. The program provides all the structure.

What fields does Aspire cover?

All major research fields — biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, psychology, neuroscience, mathematics, social science, economics, and more. If there's a PhD in the field, we can match you.

Is the program fully online?

Yes. All sessions are held over Google Meet and recorded. You can work from anywhere. A significant number of ISEF 2025 finalists completed their research from home.

How selective is the program?

The acceptance rate is approximately 10%. We're selective because we want students who are ready to do the work — not because we're gatekeeping for prestige. A strong application shows a specific research interest and demonstrated curiosity, not a perfect GPA.

What's the final deliverable?

You choose: a complete research paper in IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion), ready for journal submission, or a poster presentation ready for ISEF or JSHS. Both are reviewed through the final gate check before the Aspire Research Symposium.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. Students who demonstrate strong potential and financial need on their application are considered for aid. Apply and indicate your situation — we review every application individually.

What if my mentor isn't a good fit?

Aspire runs a 2-week matching process before the program starts so you know your mentor before you commit. If something isn't working once the program begins, the Aspire team intervenes directly.

12 weeks. One project. Your name on it.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The acceptance rate is ~10% — put in the effort and it shows.
